New Beginnings January 17, 2010 at 11:04 pm

January 17, 2010
The New Year has begun and although I feel left behind somewhat, I have to consider the time I have been able to use for constructive analysis, meditation,  and reflection in the presence of our living God.  Being challenged for the first two weeks with a rather nasty bout of bronchitis. A challenging time enables one to make the decision to either give in or get up, or just  “step up.”  Of course the question is:  Does the year always have to being with a bang, or will the beginning show the end result?  Not always so in my book: “Resist the pending attitude, the journey is the focus not the destination.”

It’s with this thought in mind that I start this year afresh, a new yet continued journey. Can you imagine that every day with the Lord is a new day? We do not have to hang onto the past for our certainty of the future. Our only true and assured hope can be found in the promises of who our God is and what He has done for us.  Knowing this allows me to wake up assured, peaceful and expectant each and every day.

So this time in bed has been contemplative of  the year ahead  and the things I have learned throughout the years before. For this years new vision,  I began to meditate on writing about my life and sharing it with you. Not only do we have the wonderful words of our Lord to contemplate each day, but we see Him walking with us through life, yes, even from the very beginning: “in our mother’s womb”, watching us and weaving us, preparing us with a plan, a purpose and a destiny.

* Next blog I will take you with me on my journey through my childhood in South Africa, and the impact of a living God as He wooed me and prepared me for His calling personally. Let me be transparent in how I perceived our marvelous and personal God. It started in the Catholic Church and an awakening to Christ while practicing the Jewish rituals through a Messianic belief.
